The Talos Quartet was formed in 2023, when the members, who studied at the Basel Music Academy, initially got together through an unusual curiosity for Ernst Bloch’s rarely played String Quartet No. 1.  An unorthodox way to start a quartet, this became the beginning of the group’s journey together.  They have a shared interest in quartet music and their ambition is to pair the great quartet music repertoire with works audiences may not have come across before.  The Talos Quartet gained the Tunnell Trust Award last year, giving them the opportunity to tour in Scotland in 2026.  The quartet will also be performing elsewhere in the UK, as well as France and Spain.
